What is Nature Connected?
The project Nature Connected is an innovative initiative in the field of ecotourism accessible, developed in collaboration between TUR4all Travel, SEO/BirdLife, RESET and IURBAN. This proposal is part of the program Experiences of Spain, promoted by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism, with the aim of promoting the development of sustainable tourism products and inclusive.
Accessibility and sustainability: the pillars of the project
The project Nature Connected seeks to promote accessible tourism and respectful with the environment in the Biosphere Reserves in Spain. To do this, the consortium responsible for its development is formed by organizations committed to accessibility, environmental sustainability and the promotion of the rural areas.
Among its objectives are:
- Promote ecotourism inclusive in protected areas.
- Promote the conservation of native birds and other natural resources.
- Encouraging the economic development of rural areas through sustainable tourism.
Technological innovations for an eco-tourism more accessible
One of the most innovative aspects of Nature Connected is the use of advanced technology to improve the accessibility and experience of the tourists. Through solutions of artificial intelligence, users can access real-time information on accessible routes, hostels, and points of interest. In addition, the AI will enable a personalized schedule, improving the accessibility to the natural reserves for people with special needs.
The technology is also presented as a solution to combat rural depopulation, facilitating the connection between the local small businesses, and tourists, to modernize their business strategies.
Implementation of the project in five autonomous communities
In its initial phase, the project Nature Connected will be implemented in five autonomous communities, where they will create tourist routes accessible in Biosphere Reserves of high ecological and cultural value. These routes will be adapted so that all people, regardless of their capabilities, they can fully enjoy nature.
Miguel Carrasco, COO of the TUR4all Travel, stressed the importance of this project: “This consortium is an example of how different actors can work together to create a tourism more inclusive, sustainable, and affordable. We are very excited to bring this initiative to the Biosphere Reserves of Spain; and to demonstrate that tourism can be for everyone.”
